Abstract
The stump appendix that is the remnant of an initial appendectomy, in which there is a risk of developing stump appendicitis. Appendectomy for appendicitis is one of the most common surgical procedures performed worldwide. Stump appendicitis is a recognized real surgical pathology but is not routinely considered when evaluating patients with right lower quadrant abdominal pain, especially those with a history of appendectomy.
