Abstract
Mirizzi syndrome is one of the rarest complications of chronic lithiasic cholecystitis, which by definition is extrinsic compression by the gallbladder towards the main bile duct or its fistulization.
Chronic lithiasic cholecystitis is the appearance of stones in the gallbladder whose cause is multifactorial and surgery is indicated when there are already symptoms of pain normally exacerbated by the intake of foods rich in fat.
The classic clinical presentation of Mirizzi syndrome is typical colicky abdominal pain accompanied by jaundice, sometimes indistinguishable from choledocholithiasis.
There are multiple classifications of Mirizzi syndrome, in this section only those of Csendes and Mcsherry will be worked on.
A series of retrospective cases of electronic files is carried out confidentially, obtaining from January 2015 to December 2021 1508 cholecystectomy, both open and laparoscopic, obtaining 25 patients with Mirizzi syndrome at the General Hospital of Mexicali.
