How to Cite
Abstract
Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders presenting to the emergency department and requiring hospitalization. Patients with moderate to severe disease are at increased risk of complications, both local and systemic, which in turn have higher rates of morbidity and mortality. That is why it is so important to care for patients with findings suggestive of these complications, especially in the case of peripancreatic or pancreatic fluid collections and acute necrotizing pancreatitis.
