Abstract

Pterygium is one of the most common pathologies that presents on daily basis of ophthalmologic consult. It’s because of the frequency that the specialist encounters this type of pathology on the clinical practice and operating rooms that he must be up to date and offer the most efficient and safest solutions for pterygium. The focus of this article will be to make and overview of this condition as well as the most innovative approaches that have been develop for the surgical treatment as well as other aspects.

In this article, we will make a revision of the literature of the last five years, about the modern concepts and recent medical management and surgery.
