Radiography aspects of SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia

Abstract

The appearance of the pandemic by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has caused a multiple of damage in different sectors, especially on health care. The generalities since its emergence, pathophysiology and clinical picture, as well as the findings observed in imaging methods that provide guidance through the most common radiologic presentation should be disseminated and known to all health personnel involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Although the diagnosis of infection with SARS-CoV-2 is microbiological, imaging techniques play an important role in supporting the severity of the disease due to the lung is the main organ involved, therefore the chest x-ray is the first imaging method allowing to recognize the patients who worsen their respiratory status. The purpose of this study is to describe the main findings and classify the severity of the disease on chest x-ray, and do a subtle mention of the physiopathology and clinical presentation.
