Resumen
El embolismo de líquido amniótico es un síndrome de alta mortalidad materna que ocurre durante la labor de parto o en el postparto inmediato, como causa de una reacción inflamatoria y/o inmune hacia detritos amnióticos en la circulación materna. El diagnóstico es clínico y consta de colapso cardiovascular agudo, hipoxemia y hemorragia asociada a coagulación intravascular diseminada. El tratamiento consta de maniobras de reanimación cardiopulmonar de alta calidad, soporte ventilatorio y reanimación intravascular con sangre y fluidos intravenosos.
